Limoges is a city in France made up of many historical values, from its 19th-century porcelain to its medieval enamels on copper. It is full of interesting places and information and is a great vacation destination for any history buff.

There are plenty of places to stay in Limoges. From the most basic amenities to the most luxurious hotel suits, Limoges offers available rooms to suit any traveler’s budget. One of the most beautiful landmarks of Limoges is The Cathedral Saint-Etienne, which was built between the 13th and 16th-centuries. The cathedral is one of the few gothic-style monuments in southern France. The Gare des Benedictins is a railway station that was built at the beginning of the last century using wrought iron, engraved glass, slate, copper, as well as other materials. It is a beautiful structure that is worth a visit. Village of Rocamadour is a village that was built almost completely vertically on the side of a cliff and has about 600 inhabitants. Les Escales du Palais is a slightly more expensive restaurant, but offers a great selection of fine foods including seafood risotto and sirloin steak.

Limoges is definitely not for the constant partier. The nights get quiet real fast and the people seem to like it that way. Although some bars are open quite late, the clientele is not the rowdy bunch, but more relaxed and easy-going. You may get lucky here and there and find a bar that has a late night party crowd, but most likely, you are going to be hard-pressed to find any juke boxes being blasted after 11 or 12. If you are just into grabbing a drink and relaxing, this is the place to go.
