Situated near the Old harbour and around the corner from the Aquarium, The General Humbert’s is a buzzing La Rochelle boozer. The bar is one of the main meeting places for the locals and a place you don't want to miss when in La Rochelle . This is probably the most popular pub in town.

A great night's drinking at the heart of the city, The General Humbert’s is well worth a look. This family owned pub takes its name from the French expeditionary force under the command of General Humbert which on August 6 th 1798 set sail from La Rochelle destined for Killala, Co. Mayo.

The walls are adorned with outstanding historical, sports, music and political memorabilia. Pictures or jerseys signed by famous Irish sports stars (Keith Wood, Brian O’Driscoll, George Best, Willie John McBride, Brian Whelehan) and vynil records signed by Irish music legends such as U2, The Pogues, The Chieftains are displayed. If walls could talk, there's a thousand books within this very building.
A unique gathering place definitely worth visiting.
