Although Sixt is not far as the crow - or eagle? - flies form Chamonix, Mont Blanc and the areas of mass tourism and Mont Blanc may well be visible from your tent, it is at the end of a road through Samoens into the high Alps and is thus a bit of a backwater.

Thus if you are staying there a few nights, it is easily possible to get to Chamonix and do the cable cars to Italy one day and the next to have a peaceful though immensely beautiful walk.
