The local firebrigade in Onkkaala, the centre of Pälkäne celebrates its anniversary on the first Sunday in July. The festival is famous for the rain, which occurs every time the festival takes place.

Aitoo Festival

The oldest rock festival in Finland, Aitoon Kirkastusjuhlat, is arranged on the second weekend in July (Friday to Monday) in the village of Aitoo. Wide variety of music on four stages, not just rock. Traditional fire brigade festival on Sunday afternoon.

Kostia 1700's Fair

The last weekend in July is the Kostia Weekend which includes different happenings related to local 18th century history, including Kostia River battle in 1713 and the following Russian occupation (The Great Wrath). The major event is the Kostia Old Times Fair on Saturday, where local people dress up in 1700's style and dozens of merchants offer handicrafts and old style delicacies. Slightly different themes and exhibitions each year.
