Kemijarvi Travel Guide

Kemijärvi is a small town in the North of Finland located on a beautifully typical Finnish lake.  The town centre itself is quite small, offering amongst other things, a scattering of restaurants and pubs, a good selection of supermarkets and one excellent hat shop!!

The surrounding area is dotted with Finns' summer cottages, many of which lie on the shores of the large lake Kemi. 

Like most of this area of Lapland, Kemijarvi is home to hundreds of roaming reindeer... Watch out on the roads!

Kemijarvi is on the major train route from Helsinki via Rovaniemi.
