The islands are so beautiful in their whole coastline that there are few specific 'mustsees;' i.e. you will get something good anywhere near the coast - and it is a mighty lot of coast. Mariehamn is covered separately but you should certainly try to visit the 'Pommern' museum ship, the nautical museum and the Åland Museum there.

Kökar is a particularly lovely island which fully justifies a night or more if at all possible. It is big enough to make bike hire very desirable but you could easily see the delightful mediaeval church and the adjacent Franciscan chapel ruins on foot.

On the main island the Postal Museum at Eckerö is worth seeing but the main exception to the lack of specific 'mustsees' is surely Kastelholm. This is not only the sight of the very substantial ruins of a castle but also has a very pleasing and free Open Air Museum and a [not free] prison museum.
