Mariehamn Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and seeIt is a stunningly attractive town with many wide streets and a multitude of green spaces. It seems so very close to lovely shoreside forest with a dazzling display of Spring flowers, the national cowslip being profuse everywhere. The town is very narrow from East to West and near the big ferry terminals on the west side is the museum ship Pommern, built in Glasgow and operating in the grain trade with Australia up to the 1930s. It is apparently the only example left of a four master anywhere in the world and fully justifies the moderate entry cost as does the adjacent Nautical Museum.
There are five bus routes from Mariehamn, numbers 4 and 5 giving access to the FREE inter-island ferries.
