Torshavn Hotel Deals
accommodation in Torshavn
Edit This18 individual islands make up this province of Denmark, known as the Faroe Islands. Tórshavn, the capital, is located on the largest island. Founded in the 10th century, it's one of the oldest capital cities of Northern Europe. Tórshavn's location makes for great scenery and numerous activities such as horseback riding, hiking, and site-seeing (a must for history buffs). If you don't find what you are looking for, hotel and hostel staff are friendly and more than happy to help you make the most of your stay.
For days and nights of elegance, stay at the dazzling Hotel Føroyar. You will know upon entering the lobby that you are in a destination made to impress. The large Greek-like pillars line the walkway to the registration desk. The beautiful art on the walls is nothing compared to what you will find in your room - a stunning panoramic view of the town. This is actually considered the only "design hotel" in the Faroe Islands. There are 106 rooms in the hotel with 98 double rooms, 2 bridal rooms, 4 family rooms, a Clinton suite and Prime Minister suite. While there are a variety of sizes, these rooms aren't fit for a budget traveler. Prices range from $280 per night for a single-sized room, up to $1,300 per night for the largest suite.
If you are looking for something a bit more affordable, you may want to try Hotel Tórshavn. Room prices vary from around $200 per night to $560 per night and offer single, double, family and business rooms. The hotel restaurant, Hvonn Brasseir, serves international cuisine including Italian, Mexican, American, Japanese, Indian and Thai. Prepare to see some rather risqué artwork of seductive female bodies, though, as the beautiful art of Rannvá Holm Mortensen now decorates the walls of Hotel Tórshavn.
If you'd like to spend your extra money on activities and souvenirs instead of pricey accommodation, take a look at Kerjalon Hostel. This hostel is situated in a picturesque location, overlooking Tórshavn city and one of the other islands. Take a stroll next door to Berg Hestar, a small farm, that offers horseback rides through the mountains bordering the city for between $47-$66. Prices for rooms start around $33 per night and you have your choice of a dorm with 6 beds (sharing with 5 others, if room is full), 4 beds (3 others), or a 2-bed room for a bit more. Breakfast, linens, and shuttle from airport are not included.
