Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and see
All air visitors see this island as it's the site of the airport, built from the UK's Royal Air Force aerodrome. The islands were occupied by the British during the second world war as soon as Hitler invaded Denmark.

The island's long freshwater lake gives out what is said to be the world's shortest river, which runs only feet before plunging down a vertical cliff to the sea.

Following the road beyond the airport you reach the idyllic village of Bour with fabulous views of some lesser islands and then through the newest tunnel in the Færoes to the village of Gasaladur, where there is a view of the island of Mykines.
