Matsalu National Park Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and see Matsalu National Park on the Estonian west coast is a famous bird watching area. It has been a reserve since 1957, and in 1976 it was included in the list of reserves protected under the international Ramsar Convention. The park is situated around a shallow bay of the Baltic Sea with extensive reedbeds, ideal for migrating birds. There are also meadows, floodplains and so called alvar land.
A visitor’s centre has been created in the renovated Penijõe manor. There are also several bird watching towers.
