7 Day Itinerary in Billund
Edit ThisQuintessentially a Scandinavian small town, Billund, famous for its Legoland is replete with breathtaking attractions for tourists. You must, therefore, optimize your trip by planning an appropriate Billund Itinerary.
Day 1: Legoland
You must visit the alter ego of Billund on the very first day of your trip. Legoland in Billund is so popular a destination that Billund is also known as Legoland. Legoland in Billund is the largest and the oldest theme park. Inaugurated in 1968, the park is a huge crowd-puller with the annual number of visitors reaching 1.7 million. Divided into 9 different worlds, Legoland will surely make your day.
Day 2: Givskud Zoo
About 20-minutes driving distance from Billund, Givskud zoo located in Give, Denmark, is ideal for spending some memorable moments with your family. The zoo is home to about 1000 animals of more than 80 species. Among the inhabitants are the Asian elephants, gorillas, white rhinos, and lions that catch maximum interest from tourists.
Day 3: Center Mobilium
Consisting of 3 museums namely the Aviation Museum, the Motor Musuem and the Falck Museum, Center Mobilium is an exciting place for tourists. It remains open from June to August everyday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Day 4: Vorbosse Church and Museum
One of most visited attractions in Billund is the Vorbosse church situated in the village of Vorbosse. Apart from the church, there are plenty of other attractions in nearby Vorbosse. For example, the Vorbosse Museum which documents the gradual change and development of Billund from Ice age to present day, is only a mile away from the Vorbosse church. Vorbosse Museum also displays several archaeological findings obtained through excavations in the surrounding area.
Day 5: Museet Pa Koldinghus
One of the most important castles of Denmark, Museet Pa Koldinghus, is situated in Kolding, about an hour's driving distance from Billund. The castle displays an exquisite collection of silver and gold pieces. It stays open everyday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Day 6: Shopping
Shopping in Billund is fun. First, you must visit the Legoland Park as plenty of shops inside the park have a vast collection from LEGO products to souvenirs. The popular item to buy here is a Lego box. Then, travel 30 km from Billund to reach Vejje which has a profusion of stores and shops selling almost everything from fresh vegetables to traditional fabric or handicrafts to electronic goods.
Day 7: Enjoy the Nightlife
On the last day of your tour you must stay over at Vejje to enjoy some of the posh nightclubs and restaurants. Some of the well-known nightclubs are Crazy Daisy, Jelling Kro and Bredal Kro.
