Křivoklát Castle

Křivoklát Castle is over 900 years old, originally built as a hunting getaway for royalty, was later transformed into a prison.  The castle was destroyed and rebuilt several times because of fires.  Charles IV also made use of the castle during the 14th century. 

There are now daily tours of the grounds and interior.  Located aproximately an hour and a half from Prague, Křivoklát Castle has many things to see including a library consisting of over 24,000 books and rare manuscripts, torture device more..
