Historical museum

The museum work of Vratsa has its deep roots in the past. It originated already in the Revival period. Interesting exponents are preserved in the Town Historical museum, which is located at the central town square. You can see labour implements and articles of the living standard since the Neolith. In the hall, which is devoted to the Middle Ages, interesting are the exponents that reveal the life of the ancient Thracian tribes. Here are shown interesting pottery, weapons and different labour implements. What is most interesting are the precious Thracian treasures. Remarkable are the golden and silver articles that were found in the Mogilska mound in Vratsa – golden laurel wreath, gilt greaves, original utensils. A special place in the museum is set for the jewellery work. There is also a hall that is devoted to the Bulgarian Revival and national-liberation struggle.
