Family Travel Ideas in Sofia
Edit This****************************
You might want to use these Sofia family travel tips to plan and enjoy your vacation here in Sofia, Bulgaria. The city offers a wide range of family activities, and you will surely enjoy an incredible family holiday. Here are some tips, details and ideas.
Family Accommodations
If you’re wondering where to stay with your family, don’t worry as the city is swarming with nice hotels offering family accommodations. This includes not only smaller private-run ones, but also hotel chains like Hilton, Sheraton and Kempinski. Wherever you decide to stay, be sure it is either at the city center or at the southern districts. Not only they have better infrastructure, but they are much safer and close to all major city attractions.
City Parks
There are a couple of lovely parks located in the center of Sofia. They are all equipped with nice playgrounds, where your children will surely have a lot of fun, so don’t hesitate to bring them here. The only issue is that although it is forbidden, many dog owners let their dogs run freely in the parks. That’s why you should always stay close to your children, in order to be able to protect them from aggressive dogs.
Mall Culture
The mall culture is highly developed in Sofia. Large malls are located all around the city and the whole family will enjoy visiting them, as they are full of trendy shops, cafes and restaurants, most of them representing renowned Western chains and brands. A couple of these malls have cinemas as well. Particularly interesting to you and your children will be the artificial climbing wall in the City Center Mall, located in the Lozenets district, where you can try your climbing skills under the supervision of qualified instructors.
Karting
Karting is another great activity that you can practice with your whole family while in Sofia. There is a nice karting track on Nikola Gabrovski Boulevard, where all of you can have a lot of fun for as low as $3 per 5 minutes (the number of laps doesn’t affect the price). This will surely be an excellent family experience.
Sofia Zoo
Finally, you can bring your children to the Sofia Zoo. It is open every weekday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There, you will be able to see many interesting animal species, but the best thing is that the ticket prices are very low. A ticket costs only $1.20 for adults and twice less for children.
