De Panne is also known as the green pearl of the Belgian Coast because of its four natural reserves.
It is resort city on the Belgian coast, but it is different from the rest because it boosts the widest beaches of Belgium and because one third (1/3) of all Belgian dunes (340hectares) can be found in De Panne.
It has a pedestrian seafront promenade and a wide array of restaurants. Particular to De Panne is also the Dumont neighbourhood. It a real architectural museum. The Leopold I esplanade is also worth a visit. This statue commemoraes the spot where the first King of Belgium touched the ground of his adoptive country.
