Museums in Brussels
Edit ThisBeing the capital city of the European Union and a city that developed out of a fortress from the 10th century, Brussels has plenty of history and culture to share with the world. The most important museums relating the history of Belgium are the BELvue Museum and the Cinquantenaire Museum, which displays both art and history. There is also the ever famous Royal Museums of Fine Arts including the Museum of Ancient Art, which has incredible paintings, drawings, and sculptures from ancient times to more modern times.
Distinctive Museums Not To Be Missed In Brussels
Belgium is known for its delicious, quality beer, so you must visit at least 1 brewery museum while in Brussels. The Belgian Brewer´s Brewery Museum is a great choice. You get to see beer-making technology from its very beginnings to present day, and even to technologies that may be used in the future. Fermentation, filtering, bottling, and packaging are all explained, and at the end of your tour through the museum, you can sit back and enjoy an ice cold beer in the cafe. Admission is 6 euro. The Schaerbeek Beer Museum is another good option.
Other interesting museums to visit include the Fencing Museum, the Museum of Spontaneous Art, and the Toy Museum. The Brussels Museum of Mill and Food is another treat where you can explore 5 themed areas showing the history of milling from the millstone to the circular movement based machines used for milling today.
