Taxis

If you decide to travel by taxi keep in mind that the taxi drivers of Belarus are underpaid, so many of them jump at the chance to earn a few extra dollars. Taxis are required by law to charge by the meter. If they don't have a meter, or don't turn it on, they are driving illegally. Insist that they run the meter and you will not only be obeying the law, but you will also save yourself a large amount of money.
