Belovezhskaya Pushcha Nature Reserve

Edit This
Once the residence of Polish princes and Russian tsars, on December 8, 1991 the documents which sealed the end of the USSR and the creation of the CIS were signed here by Belarus, Russia and the Ukraine. Now, there are just plenty of roaming elk, lynx, beaver and bison. Yes, bison. If you can’t manage to find some animals to watch in the wild just visit the nature museum which houses the resident forest dwellers. To get here: Five busses run from Brest to Kamenets daily. If you decide to drive arrange your visit with the Brest Intourist people. You’ll need some paperwork in order to ensure a hassle-free visit, of course.
