Museums in Zell am See
Edit ThisZell am See has many great museums that will offer a day of adventure and historical exploration for the entire family. The country's significant cultural history is demonstrated very well here with such places as the Kaprun Museum. The museum sits in the old Steinerbaunerhaus farmhouse at Kirchbachl, where it stands out like a specter in the night. As you enter the Kaprun Museum the first thing that you may see is an exhibit of the journey of over 4000 years of history for Zell am See. This shows the historical significance of the town and the country of Austria itself. A guided tour of the museum is available Monday through Friday and half a day on Saturday’s, beginning at 6 p..m. The guide starts out with a presentation of books on different chosen topics, all relating somehow to the town of Zell am See.
Guided Museum TourThere is also a guided tour of the special exhibit and the church. The tour includes a film version of the song “Das Lyd Von Coprom”, sung in German, which means “Song of Kaprun.” This is great since this is the name of the museum and a song has been written about it--and is a very popular tune in the village. There is also a nice film on Kaprun itself labeled “Dur ruf der Walder”, which in Deutsch means “The Call of the Woods.” If there are any childhood adventurers in the group, they will be amazed of the reading of famous tales all in Deutsch such as “Mysthe leserei of a Series”. More detailed information about any of these fine museums can be found on the Internet.
