Getting There by Other Means

The alternative to taking the train is to get into a car and drive there. Zell am See is about an hour and a half’s drive from Salzburg, and three hours from the city of Munich. If you plan to land in Salzburg airport and rent a car, here is the route:

• Head south from the airport on the A1 or A10
• Take the B311 for Zell am See
• Cars heading from Munich should take the autobahn to Salzburg and follow the above directions.
