Carnival museum - Fasnachtsmuseum

The recently opened carnival museum gives its visitors impressions of the "Imster Schemenlaufen" procession and "Imster Buabefasnacht". Guided tours in German, English and French available, entrance fee/person 1 - 4 €.

Rosengarten gorge

King's chapel

Opened in August 1855 after King Friedrich's ox Saxonias fatal accident.

St. Michael's chapel with tomb

Small chapel next to the parish church; war memorial with 4 frescos by painters Kopp, Stimpfl, Wachter and Weißenbach.

Imst farm museum - Imster Bauernmuseum

Collection of farm tools and devices demonstrating traditional farm work which has almost been forgotten due to increasing mechanization. Free admission. Open September - June

Museum of local heritage - Imster Heimatmuseum

The museum was founded in 1909 and features items connected with the history of Imst, like prehistory, the Romans, textile industry. There are also religious exhibits, sculptures and tools from the mining era. Open all year.

In 2003 the Museum was reopened as "Museum im Ballhaus". 

Church of the Holy Angels

Designed by architect Norbert Heltschl, this church contains works by artists Gustav Stimpfl (glass windows, tabernacle), Elmar Kopp (stations of the Cross) and Andreas Weißenbach (St. Michael mosaic). In 1993 the angel fountain, also designed by Norbert Heltschl, and built by students of the Imst technical school, was consecrated. The angel statue was made by Werner Abraham.

Maria Himmelfahrt parish church

An impressive building from the 15th century with the highest spire in Tirol (84.5 m), frescos on the outside and a modern altar by sculptor Elmar Kopp from Imst.

Plague chapel -Pestkapelle

Erected in remembrance of the 17th century's plague epidemic, which killed almost one fifth of Imst's population.

SOS Children's Village

In 1949 the first SOS Children's Village was founded by Hermann Gmeiner in Imst. Guided tours: Mon - Sat 9:00am - 11:00am
