Getting Around in Yerevan
Edit ThisYerevan is the largest city in the Armenian nation and traveling to
the city is always a beautiful and learning experience. The city is
connected to almost every part of the nation by road and air.
The Roadways
Trams are the major occupants of the city roads and the public uses
the trams for their daily life movement. The city has more than 70 bus
lines; 24 are trolley bus lines that are capable of moving
smoothly on the hilly and steep regions of the city. Some of the buses
start from the central road train station that is situated on the
outskirts of the city. The tram network was closed because of its poor
performance and huge losses.
The Yerevan Metro
The Yerevan Metro has become a part of the lives of the native people and it runs a total distance line of more than 14 km. It serves as a rapid transit system and allows the visitors and locals to travel in a fast manner.
The City Airports
The city has two airports, namely Zvartnots International Airport and Erebuni Airport. The Zvartnots Airport is exclusively meant for the civil purposes while the Erebuni Airport is commonly used for Military and Public purposes. These two airports serve as the lifeline of the city and connect the country to various parts of the world. More than 29 International flights run from these airports. The Zvartnots airport was reconstructed recently in two phases, and the overall cost of the project was more than $100 USD.
