7 Day Itinerary in Yerevan

In the capital of Armenia there are countless things to do, which is why it's a great idea to have a Yerevan itinerary to plan out your trip. A very historical city, there are a number of things to do that teach tourists about the history of the city as well as a number of entertaining activities.

Day One - Yerevan Zoo

A perfect outing for the entire family, a trip to the Yerevan Zoo is entertaining, educational and economic. Founded in 1940, the zoo is home to a large variety of animals including elephants, bears, camels and eagles.

Day Two - Erebuni Fortress

Dating back to 782 BC, the Erebuni Fortress was one of several fortresses built along the northern border of Uratu, to protect the ancient city from northern invaders. Today it serves as an archaeological excavation site open to tourists. It's also home to a museum that displays ancient artifacts that were discovered in the fortress.

Day Three - Museums

Being that Yerevan is such a historic place to visit, a trip to this town would be incomplete without a day spent exploring the dozens of museums scattered throughout the city that display everything from tools and attire to precious gems and art.

Day Four - Opera House

Centrally located, the Yerevan Opera House is a stunning architectural wonder that was constructed in 1940. Still an operating theater, an evening watching a play, a ballet or listening to a world-class opera would be a nice break from a fast-paced week of sightseeing - just make sure you purchase your tickets ahead of time!

Day Five - Waterworld

A large water park located near the city center, this establishment is home to many pools, slides, toboggans, bars and restaurants. Offering something to please everyone in your family, a day relaxing in the sun will a welcome treat.

Day Six - Visiting Local Parks

Yerevan is definitely doing its part in creating a green environment and is contributing to this effort by creating multiple parks throughout the city. A great way to see the sights, a stroll through some of the most popular parks in the area such as Lover's Park and Victory Park is a treat you wont want to miss.

Day Seven - Shopping

No trip is complete without spending a little time shopping to stock up on souvenirs and trinkets from your travels. Some of the best places to shop in Yerevan include the Pag Shuka covered market which sells local produce and handicrafts as does the Vernisage market and the Nina Hovnanian, a local boutique selling exquisite fine Armenian arts and crafts.
