Getting Around in Tirana
Edit ThisTirana Getting Around is not that difficult because Tirana is well-established in terms of communication and travel. There are several routes into and around the city. The following is little bit of getting-around information in Tirana for travelers.
Traveling by Bus
There is wide range of public buses within the cities and when the bus is marked as “Unaze,” it means that it would travel in a loop within the city. The cost of the public transport would range between $5.00 to $10.00 euros.
Traveling by Car and Taxi
The government of Albania has spent a lot on the ring roads and hence they are very smooth to travel in Tirana. Getting around by taxi can cost about $400 Lek where as at night the cost about $600 lek. When the taxi is booked from the hotel, it can charge $100 lek over the normal charge of the taxi. There is also a facility for mini-vans that run across the city.
There are about 15 places within the city where these mini-vans are located and thereby providing easy access.
Traveling by Train
Train stations are located at the northern end of the city and trains travel to important places like Durres, Vlora, Elbasn, Pogradec and Shkodra. Getting around by train to these places costs different based on the distance traveled. The minimum cost of the train ticket is to Durres with about $55 Lek and the highest is $210 lek, traveling to Vlora.
