Geography, Climate and Time Zone
Saranda is located in the southern part of Albania, along the coast of the Ionian Sea. The city has a mild Mediterranean climate in which the temperature can go as low as 7 degrees C during winter and up to 24 degrees C during the summer. Saranda falls under the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) +1, which means it is 6 hours ahead of the Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Currency
The currency used in Saranda is called Lech, €1=Lech 130. However, the euro is widely accepted in most shops and establishments in the city. If you are carrying other currencies you can exchange these at the banks or at the money changers. You can also use the ATMs in Saranda to withdraw cash; however, you need to be aware that your bank might levy a charge for that transaction.
Visa and Passport
If you are traveling to Saranda, you are required to have a valid passport. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of your intended journey. You should also be in possession of a valid return ticket.
