As Albania slowly opens its doors to tourists, hotels are being built to accommodate the increasing numbers. Albania hotels are increasing and currently exist in most price ranges. One of the advantages of traveling in Albania is the low cost of travel. Even those who stay in luxury accommodation will find it significantly cheaper when compared to other European countries.

Luxury Hotels

Luxury hotels are growing in number in Albania as the tourist numbers rise and the economy grows. The quality of a luxury hotel in Albania will be as good as anywhere else with some of the major chains already in existence. Taking the Sheraton Hotel in Tirana as an example, this 4-star complex features large spacious rooms, a swimming pool, shopping center, Internet access, multi-lingual staff and a 24-hour reception desk. The Sheraton Inn in Tirana costs approximately $230 U.S. per night, making it one of the more expensive options in the country. Several other 4-star hotels exist in the country that range between 60 and 150 dollars.

Mid-Range Hotels

Even though luxury accommodation is quite affordable in Albania some may prefer the mid-range options. Albania offers several options which represent good value for money. The City Hotel in Tirana is a good example of what one can expect from this range of accommodation. The City Hotels offer top notch security, which is important in Albania. Crime still tends to be a problem. The rooms are large, clean and spacious. The staff friendly and helpful. A single room in the City hotel will cost between 30 and 60 euros per night. A double room will cost about 75 euros. The Eder hotel is another fine example. This is a small hotel with only 5 rooms, all done in a different style. It is centrally located, making it within walking distance of the city center. Single rooms start at 40 euros and doubles at 50.

Budget Hotels

The range of budget accommodation available around the country is seemingly endless. Small hostels are being built at a feverish pace to cope with the increased numbers of tourists coming in. Budget range rooms can be anything from small hotels to families renting out rooms in their homes. When it comes to this range of accommodation make sure you look beyond the price. Security should be first on your mind. Many budget hotels also are not clean, some unsafe and others without hot water or heat. Look before you leap. A good example of what you can attain with a little research is the Loreni Hostel and Guest House. Rooms start at 15 euros per night. This is a family operated hotel that offers cleanliness, security, comfortable rooms, Internet and free bottled water. Breakfast is included in the price of the room and the family speaks English.
