Located on the northwest tip of the U.S. Territory Puerto Rico, Aguadilla is as rich with beauty as it is with spirit. Traveling to another country can be stressful with so many changes to adapt to, but that is not the case here. The currency is the U.S. dollar, almost everyone speaks English, and U.S. citizens can enter without a passport. The number one worry, rather, is the weather. You definitely want to plan your vacation around hurricane season. The best time to visit is between the months of December and April. If your vacation does fall in the midst of hurricane season, make sure you check refund policies for any hotels before you book.

Beaches and Water Parks

Aguadilla has a variety of attractions that will please any traveler. The beaches are breathtaking with tiny grains of sand bordering clear blue water. The rocky cliffs and palm trees that line the beaches are enough to make you want to stay forever. The most popular beach is Crash Boat Beach. This is a great area for snorkeling, diving, and sun-bathing. There are food vendors nearby, so you could buy lunch for about $10 without leaving the beach. Although, if you're looking to change gears a bit visit Las Cascadas Water Park. It is the largest water park in the Caribbean, affordable at $20 per person, and is perfect for a family. It is only open from March to September. If you're searching for more family friendly attractions then go to Aguadilla's Ice Skating Arena. It's open all year and you can skate several hours for $13. Aguadilla is also a great place for golf enthusiasts and avid hikers.

Hotel Options

Accommodations in this city will fit anyone's budget. If vacation money is tight, try IHP Hotel Parador El Faro for $85 per night. The atmosphere is tropical and it's a short distance from the beaches. Food is not included in this price and make sure to request a room with air conditioning. If you're traveling with a family or large group try Courtyard Marriott in Aguadilla. The rooms are complete with comfortable bedding, internet access, and in-room movies or video games. Also, the pool has a fabulous aquatic playground that will keep kids happy for hours. The rate average is about $180 per night and the staff is willing to assist any recreational inquiries.

Aguadilla is truly a tropical location that any type of traveler can enjoy. There is something for everyone and every budget.
