This budget hotel is not in Alaska but in the south end of Dominica. A great place to spend the night and dive, the rooms here are clean and the staff is friendly. There have been many renovations to this hotel since hurricane Omar that have modernized this facility. To outsiders things may seem to move slowly at times here especially at the restaurants, but that is just island life. Premium rooms have balconies with ocean front views. The nightlife at this hotel is mellow as people enjoy relaxing in the open air bar and drinking Kubuli. The price is one of the lowest around.

Garraway Hotel

The Garraway Hotel in Roseau is a great value in a great location. This modern hotel has clean rooms and a friendly and attentive staff. There is no need to shop for tours around town. If you would like to book excursion tours, you can book them with the help of the front desk. The hotels restaurant offers Caribbean style cuisine including an abundance of fresh tropical fruit and saltfish for breakfast. The dinner specialty here is the lobster. If you want beach towels, the front desk can provide them for you. Some rooms have a view of the harbor. The Garraway is conveniently located within walking distance to shops and downtown.

Fort Young Hotel

The best rooms at the Fort Young Hotel are the Oceanside rooms featuring a spectacular view. The restaurant here has a veranda with a water view and provides an ample breakfast and lunch. However the weekly BBQ is not as spectacular as the flyer says. The hotel is built into an old English fort, and is one of the nice places in town. Each room has television and air conditioning so you can sleep well. One of the highlights of this hotel is drinking rum punch and listening to the live music at the bar. The Fort Young Hotel is located very close to the ferry dock so you don’t have to bother taking a taxi if you have manageable luggage.
