Portsmouth is an excellent base for visiting Crosser walk car park where you find Fort Shirley. Other attractions in the area include a trip to the mangrove lagoons.

The road between Portsmouth and Roseau is pretty scenic. Many small villages, restaurants and overlooks on the way. The Macoucherie Rum factory with its old waterwheel near Salisbury is a nice place to visit.
