Beaches in Cuba

Edit This

Cuba has been a popular vacation destination for many years, and one of the highlights of a tourists visit here is of course, the

Cuba beaches

. There are literally hundreds of beaches to choose from throughout Cuba, and choosing one over another can be somewhat difficult. They are all beautiful in their own way; here are the best Cuba beaches:

Varadero Beach

If you are looking for the most pristine beach in all of Cuba, Varadero would have to be at the top of the list. Varadero is a beach resort town and has been rated the best resort area in all of Cuba. There are several resort accommodations located here along its more secluded peninsula, and the beaches are kept in the best condition possible to keep visitors coming back for more. Also while at Varadero Beach, make sure to go on a tour of the Bellamar Caves, which are approximately 25 miles out of town and a must see sight if you're in the area.

Havana Beaches

A short distance outside the capital of Havana are a couple of wonderful beach areas. Santa Maria Beach and Playa del Este are very popular with Havana locals seeking relief from the sweltering summer temperatures. Then, just south of Havana are the beaches of Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo. Both are just as beautiful as Varadero, but not near as busy with people. In the Cuban province of Holguin, visit the beaches of Playa Guardalavaca and Playa Esmeralda. Resorts are being built rapidly as more and more tourists are wanting to stay in accommodations closer to these hot-spots.

Southwest Coast

If you travel to the southwestern coast, be sure to visit the Cayo Largo or Playa Paraíso Beach. These are beach areas that are virtually untouched by development, but have just enough amenities there to make them rare beach finds. Another fact about the Cayo Largo beach area is that there is a secluded part of the beach that's topless.

Northern Coast

When you head back to the northern coast of Cuba, venture out to one of Cayo Coco's smaller cays called Playa Sabinal. Here, you'll find another area that is less touristy. You'll find more pink flamingos flocking here than anything or anyone else.
