British Virgin Islands Sights offers visitors information on the attractions and sights that will help them savor a memorable Caribbean holiday.
Nature Haven
Luscious natural beauty is available in generous proportions in the region that is a treasure chest of scintillatingly nuanced coral reefs, sandy white beaches and quaint coastal villages. For nature buffs, J.R O’Neal Botanical Gardens housed in a quiet location in Tortola are an expansive mass of lush vegetation, rare botanical species and tropical flora that pay a fitting tribute to the Caribbean landscape. There are several paths that wind around small rainforests and pass hybrid and autochthonic varieties of plants. There are lush waterfalls that dot the green belt and old-fashioned ponds that glisten like diamonds in a large emerald crown. The park is extremely well-maintained and is inhabited by a number of exotic bird species and the famous three-legged tortoises. Another great haunt for outdoor buffs is the rainforest set seductively amidst Sage Mountain that exudes serene natural beauty and abundant greenery.
Beach Revelry
The most populated and attractive beach in the region is the Cane Bay Garden that provides a fantastic opportunity for sunbathing, swimming and thrilling water sports like scuba diving, surfing and windsurfing. Visitors can also go big sea fishing with a mandatory recreational permit to be obtained from the Department of Conservation and Fisheries. Cane Garden Bay boasts of a lively summer nightlife featuring packed beach-side restaurants and bars that mesmerize visitors with hardcore Caribbean style revelry.
The Baths located in the famous Virgin Gorda region of the British Virgin Islands is a place of outstanding aesthetic appeal. The island’s splendid beaches are interspersed with huge boulders that form a visually stunning pattern of grottos and tidal pools which are great for swimming and other water sports. The enthralling rock formations were a result of a natural phenomenon that occurred several years ago and is one of the most vivid natural sights the island offers. The ideal time to enjoy the baths are in the early mornings when the region is sparsely populated.
