accommodation in Colon

Edit This

Colon is a sea port in Panama right near the Panama Canal. It overlooks the Caribbean sea and is filled with lots of beautiful views, great shopping trips and exciting sites that you can see on your own or by guided tour. There are unlimited possibilities of why to go see Colon but the hotel options can be somewhat limited. Depending on the time you decide to go the prices and availability of these hotels can be a little wary. But do not fear! There are some great options for lodging in the city of Colon. Just stay optimistic and keep your budget and availability clear.

Resorts and High Priced Hotels

Everyone knows that the more money you are willing to spend usually correlates with the quality of your hotel. There aren’t many resorts in the area but the ones that are around are sure to be a great escape. One resort is the Meliá Panamá Canal. This resort is a large building that sits atop perfectly landscaped land that is nestled around trees and the canal. The hotel has a large pool, casino, in-room massage service, tennis courts, volleyball, kayaking, a kid’s club and on site bars and restaurants. The hotel staff will help you find guided tours and even offers some so you can enjoy the city around you. The rooms are comfortable and nice and if you have some extra money you can the Royal service which includes things like butler service and an exclusive lounge. Rates here start at around $115

Other high priced hotels in the area include Gamboa Rainforest Resort, Four Points Colon and The Radisson Colon 2000 Hotel and Casino.

Inexpensive Stays

Although expensive hotels and resorts are nice some people would rather spend their money on their adventures or they just believe that some of those high end resorts aren’t as good as a reasonably priced inn with a nice staff and comfortable room. One example of this might be Davis Suites Panama Canal. This is more like a hostel but they refer to themselves as a hotel. It’s located in a former Army Post known as Fort Davis but now acts as a clean comfortable place for travelers to stay. The rooms are spacious and include a microwave and fridge. Rates here are around $55 Other inexpensive hotels in the area include New Washington Hotel. The La Aldea hostel is a true hostel with separate rooms starting at $9.
