Playa Mango Beach Club and Resort Hotel

The Playa Mango Beach Club and Resort features a pool beside the ocean. It has 14 rooms and 1 suite. Playa Mango fronts directly on the beach in Big Creek, Bocas del Toro on the main island of Isla Colon. All rooms have airconditioners and kitchen supplies are available. Wireless internet is available.  Continental breakfast is included. Guests can relax in a hammock in the over the water rancho. There is an on site restaurant with good food and a very friendly staff.

This resort is an excellent choice for people looking for a tranquil place while still having quick access to the town of Bocas del Toro. Taxi and water taxi rides take about 10 minutes. The Playa Mango is not for those who seek accomodation in downtown Bocas where the majority of shops, bars and restaurants are located.

The area of Big Creek is great for nature lovers. A 5 minute walk from the hotel leads to the jungle. Howler monkeys can be heard and often seen. Flocks of parrots fly overhead in the early morning and again in the evening. Butterflies and hummingbirds are abundant.

Surfers will want to bring their boards and take a 20 minute walk to the surf spot at Paunch Beach. Snorkel boats can pick people up from the dock at The Playa Mango. Bocas del Toro features some amazing underwater sites. The islands in this region are well know for containing a wide variety of coral, small colorful fish and many interesting invertebreas.

Returning visitors may want to note that the road to Big Creek is now much improved! It is still a sand road but taxi drivers have no problem getting to The Playa Mango.
