San Juan del Sur Nightlife involves dancing and enjoying music at its various clubs, hotels and restaurants. During the day, the tourists go surfing and fishing along the Nicaraguan beaches. As soon as dusk falls, the tourists make a beeline for the nightlife across this town that lies on the Pacific Ocean. The night life of San Juan del Sur is famous.
People at the beach town of San Juan del Sur enjoy the locally produced rum as well as the beer. Along the beach, there are a few bars and discos.
Iguana Bar and Restaurant
Iguana Bar and Restaurant promises great food with the coldest beer in the beach town. On its menu is fresh seafood and a variety of salads and pastas. The Mexican tacos are simply superb and the restaurant offers late night dining. The bar is also open late into the night. You can dance the night away at the Jungle Room, a disco opened under Iguana Bar aegis to music ranging from salsa and hip hop to reggae. The restaurant frequently has live bands for people who love to dance to the music played here. It lies half a block north of El Velero restaurant. The restaurant also organizes special parties such as Ladies Night. Cover charges are applicable to the special events.
Bar Republika is located in the center of the town. It is a street bar which is located a western part of the Mercado Municipal and some distance from the market. It has a vast selection of drinks on the menu. It has an American style barbecues where you get grilled gourmet steak hamburgers and sandwiches. This bar opens at 6 p.m. and people collect there throughout the night.
Piedras y Olas
Piedras y Olas is a beautiful hotel and resort. Piedras y Olas translated means Pelican Eyes. The resort has beautiful, well-manicured gardens and rooms with a panoramic view of the ocean. Anybody who is anybody in the town of San Juan del Sur can be seen here, especially during happy hours on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Bamboo Beach Club
Bamboo Beach Club is located at the north end of the beach in San Juan del Sur. It is famous for the Italian chef Paolo Ferraro and Austrian-manager-cum-bartender Marie Mendel. The menu includes Mediterranean as well as locally inspired dishes. Happy Hours are scheduled on Sundays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with live acoustic guitars.
