Bluefields offers rustic accommodation and a few high class options for travelers. There are not too many hotels and there are some dodgy areas on the outskirts of town so you should be careful about choosing where to stay. If you have a smaller budget you can experience quality service and comfortable lodgings with stylish furnishings at Hospedaje Kaorha View which lies west of the town center. You should try to stay upstairs if possible with rooms ranging between $12 and $25. Hotel Caribbean Dream is another option located in the center of town in a green house with excellent security. Another highly recommended hotel is the Hotel Surprise Dream located in Rama Key.

One of the most well known places to stay is The Bluefields Bay Hotel. This double story hotel was erected in 1994, accommodates 20 rooms and has a restaurant as well. The rooms are air conditioned and have a standard bath, shower and television. There is a daily maid service and a dry cleaning facility is also available. There is a present security service, and telephones and faxes are available to guests. The rooms all have balconies, some having great views overlooking the bay. Here you can experience typical Bluefields hospitality.

Another hotel destination which is becoming one of the main competitors in Bluefields is the Oasis Hotel Casino. This new hotel was built in 2006 and boasts the largest casino on the Atlantic Coast of Nicaragua. Accommodation consists of 16 rooms including a presidential suite option and you are able to request specific bed types-queen, king or single. Each room comes standard with TV, an electronic safe, ironing board, mini bar and a direct line telephone. The facilities are slightly more modern and for the rates you pay you have access to wireless internet and a buffet breakfast served daily. Room rates start from $65 and as the rooms can take up to four people there is an additional per person rate of $20. The Oasis is a popular choice for holdings functions and conferences and of course the casino provides some evening activities for the hotel guests only. There is also a shuttle service running to and from the Airport.

There are other smaller accommodation options that you can get like the Mini Hotel Cafetin Central which offers Cable TV and a phone. The rooms and private bathrooms are tiny, but neat, situated behind a vibrant café. This hotel can be a noisy, busy place as it is frequented by party goers, but if you don’t mind the lively vibe, this is a great choice.
