Hotel Tela

The Hotel Tela is onTela's main street.  The front of the hotel, on the main street is 3 blocks south of the beach; the back stairs open onto a back street 2 blocks south of the beach.

The 2 floor hotel is built atop a row of shops opening onthe main street. On the first floor (one flight up from the street) are the huge and airy dining room with good food and a huge old bar, the office, an open back porch, and 10 or so rooms. Upstairs are 6 rooms and a wonderful open porch, looking south to the hills behind town.

Hotel Brisas del Mar

Brisas del Mar is definetely a budget-hotel.  Some rooms have AC, others fan. Make sure whichever yours has works before taking the room, as some rooms are more run-down than others.  The rooms on the 3rd floor are much cooler as there's a nice breeze from the ocean. Some have TV and some don't. The rooms have private baths, but they are open-air (that is, there's no ceiling, they open into the room) so you'd better be comfortable with the people you're sharing the room with.
