Go to the East
Valle de Angeles is an hour away by bus from the city of Tegucigalpa. It is a great place where you can buy small mementos or souvenirs and craft items for your friends and relatives. This place is also popular for its carpentry.
Also at the east of Tegucigalpa is the area of Santa Lucia. There are also shops here, but fewer compared to those in Valle de Angeles. The tourist attractions in this area include the wonderful vies and the amazing old churches.
Go to the West
Zambrano is a high valley area surrounded with pine forest at the west side of Tegucigalpa. It is located 35 kilometers away from the city. Zambrano is a good place to be because it has clean and pure air. You can go horseback riding here, but be sure to reserve ahead of time so you will have the chance to tour around the mountains.
There is also a park 36 kilometers from Zambrano where you can have a picnic with your friends or relatives. Parque Aurora is open everyday except on Mondays. In this park, you can find benches where you can sit as you watch the beautiful lagoon. There are also horses here that are available for rent. The rental fee is less than a dollar for adults and almost a half dollar for the children.
