Bars and Cafes in Tegucigalpa
Edit ThisWhen traveling in the capital city of Honduras, Tegucigalpa, bars and cafes are plentiful. Most of them can be found in the downtown area, but there are quite a few in other areas as well. Taste great food from the local culture as well as great authentic Italian cuisine. Below is a little information on a couple of places worth tasting.
If you Love Fresh Visit Gino’s Pasta Cafe
Located in the Colonia Palmira region of Tegucigalpa, this café is easy to find because it is directly in front of the Hotel Plaza San Martin. It is open only for lunch, except on Wednesday.
It is a little bit more expensive than some cafes, but it is only because all of the food is authentically fresh, made from scratch every day. This is an authentic Italian experience in the middle of Honduras and well worth the little bit of extra money. The only thing not served fresh here is the ice cream, but it made by the company owned by his wife’s family.
El Quijote: Mediterranean Cuisine
This establishment is one of the oldest restaurants in Teguciglapa; it has been in business over 30 years. The food served here is generally Mediterranean cuisine with a specialty of Hispanic seafood dishes. In addition, it offers a wide selection of wines with a fully stocked bar. They are open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., except for Mondays when they close at 8 p.m. and on Sundays when they are closed.
