Getting around on Roatan is not that difficult. Considering the fact that there is only one main road makes it a lot easier! There are of course many little roads and trails going off into the mountains and almost every nook and cranny but the locals will be happy to point you in the right direction should you choose to explore into the unknown. However it can be said that one of the best ways to find your way around the island is to have a knowledgeable guide. And as in most places there are many that are willing to offer their services.

However please keep in mind that like all things, you want to choose not only the best but also the most affordable without sacrificing quality at the same time. How is that possible? Well shop around a little. Don’t just choose the first one that shows up and offers to “show you around”. Do research beforehand or better yet “ask the locals”. And use your “senses”. Or better said, use your judgment. Choose the guide that is right for you and you will be sure to enjoy an experience like no other and something that you will remember not with dread, but with contentment in the years to come.
