From Mexico

It is possible to cross directly from Palenque in Mexico to Tikal. You have to go via either the Rio san Pedro or the Rio Usumacinta.  It is also posible to take a bus from Chetumal on the Mexico/ Belize border.  There is a direct bus at 6am and several other buses that make a stop in belize city.
