Los Elementos Adventure Center and Day Spa are located in Santa Cruz la Laguna. Offering kayak & hiking tours; from one day to 5-day excursions around the lake. Our kayak and hike excursions are designed to be low impact on the culture and environment, yet high impact on adventure. Our kayak tours visit many of the 12 Maya villages surrounding the lake. While on the water we are able to interact with the local fishermen who still ply the waters in their hand-hewn cayukas. While touring the villages, we focus on cultural exchanges with locals by participating in weaving classes, language schools, re-forestation programs, and volunteering opportunities. Overnight stays are at Eco-friendly hotels, hostels, or home stays. We have overnight accommodation options for any level of budget. Many of our contacts with the local Maya are through work with our non-profit, Amigos de Santa Cruz (amigosdesantacruz.org). We feel this connection makes for a more genuine cultural exchange. In our Day Spa, we are training locals the trade of massage, manicure, pedicure, and hair services. Our goal is to be staffed by locals to provide employment opportunities that would not other wise be available. Our website is under development, but we are listed on Tripadvisor.
