Eating Out
Edit ThisInternational cuisine can be enjoyed in first-class hotels and restaurants. The staple ingredients of typical dishes are meat, poultry, rice, beans and corn. Avocados, considered a delicacy in many parts of the world, are part of any regular meal for Guatemalans, and one of the enormous variety of fruits grown in the country. Guatemala is noted for high quality beef. Steak houses rank high on the list of favorite restaurants for locals. Seafood, if not as abundant, is equally good.

The Buddha
Edit ThisThe Buddha in San Pedro la Laguna, Guatemala is a fabulous all in one backpacker's oasis. Great Asian food!! Cool, sleek and stylish bar with pool table, dart board & lots of crazy fun drinks. The rooftop terrace has one of the finest views I've ever seen... the bar sits upon a lake shore within a volcanic caldera amidst several other volcanos!! The second floor lounge is plush and comfortable and you can smoke fruity tobaccos out of their Egyptian Sheesha/Nargila/Hookah water pipes while watching movies in Dolby surround sound on the big screen. Awesome place!!
