A great and cheap place to stay is Martha's Guesthouse. It is located in the center of town.
Just outside of town there are a few great options nestled in the jungle. One of the best is called Ek' Tun - 2 guest cabanas surround by 600+ acres of tropical jungle.

Edit ThisThis was an awesome place to sleep. small rooms, but if all you need is a place to crash, its the place to be. There were four of us, and we took three rooms for 4 nights, for 35$ US each for the full four nights. very clean and safe.
