Grand Bahama Island is great beach destination for vacationers. The beaches are beautiful, as are the views from the shore. Hotels in the area are very diverse. The area is filled with beach front resorts that cater to those searching for luxury and relaxation. Many of these places have spas to add to the sense of tranquility that comes from the waves and waters. For some, the beach is all they need for a great vacation and there are hotels in the area that are comfortable enough for a few nights stay, without many extra frills.

Old Bahama Bay Resort

The resorts in the area vary, but for the most part are very luxurious and focused on the beach that’s around them. Old Bahama Bay is a resort in the West end of the island. There’s a Marina here, so there is a lot of fishing available. The resort is condominium style with a beautiful outdoor pool, Jacuzzi, private beach, spa services and restaurants. The resort is highly acclaimed but very secluded, unlike that of the main resort areas that are filled with tourists. Prices here start at around $479.

Pelican Bay

Pelican Bay at Lucaya is a very high end hotel that's a few yards away from the beach. There are many amenities in this hotel to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. It has a pool, casino, golf and tennis, hot tub, complimentary breakfast and casino. The hotel is near many great restaurants and bars, and there are lots of places to do water sports and fishing near the beach. Reviews of the hotel all seem very good, and vacationers regularly praise Pelican Bay as the best place to stay. Rates here start at around $181.

Economy Hotels and Hostels

Most of the economy hotels in the area are further away from the beach, but still within walking distance. Bell Channel Inn has a lot of amenities and great service for about $83 a night. They have a pool, free parking, restaurant on site and a bar and lounge. Hostels in the area include the Ocean Pearl Resort and Club, which doesn’t sound much like a regular hostel and isn’t priced as one either. Beds here are around $95, but there are also more amenities than a normal hostel.
