Southern Laughter Lodge
Edit ThisThis nice and cosy lodge is one of the picks from the Magic Bus. It has nice (in the wintertime heated) rooms and good facilities. Especially when you get in one of the two top rooms you even have a huge balcony with a nice view on the mountains. A good spot to eat your Fergburger.
It´s not directly on Shotover Street, but that´s what makes it nice and quiet. (Shotover Street is just a one minute walk away.) This is definately recommendable, especially if you don´t like the big party hostels like Discovery Lodge. (which is the most popular hostel for the Kiwi Experience bus.)
