North of Kaitaia stretches the Te Aupouri Penninsula, that is approx 100 ks long and 10ks from Coast to Coast.

The west coast basically has only one easily accessible beach, Ninety Mile Beach while the east coast of the penninsula has several easily accessible beaches.
