Nightlife and Entertainment in North Shore City

  Takapuna has recently become a very popular nightlife area. Although bars have always existed here, they have recently upped their image. Thursday is a night for the younger crowd. Fridays and Saturdays are more for the 30+ (although not exclusively) when the younger ones tend to go to the city.

The main strip of bars is on Hurstmere Road, just up from Takapuna beach. R'Toto's is large, has a big dance floor and plays a lot of pop and hip-hop music. Mesh on the otherhand is a lot smaller and plays house music. The Belgian Beer cafe is good for a quiet sit down drink, maybe after dinner, and the Copper Room is good for some rowdy fun. On Wednesdays and Thursdays they have live bands which are usually very good.
