Boat Cruises
Edit This
Relax on deck and see New Zealand's beautiful coastline and waterways from a unique offshore perspective. You could find yourself cruising through glorious bays, island-studded gulfs and sheltered waterways, or exploring inland rivers and lakes. You will find magnificent scenery not visible from the roads, as well as marine and birdlife which may include penguins, seals or albatross. Sightseeing can be combined with activities like fishing, diving, swimming with dolphins or even whale watching.
Sailing boats or motor launches can take you on trips ranging from a few hours to several days. Private charters are also available, as well as onboard dining and fully serviced functions.
There is a booking office for most boat trips near the ferry building on the waterfront and the great Americas Cup experience SAILNZ (NZL40/41) leaves from the Viaduct. The Maritime Museum offers inexpensive trips on a heritage scow on Tue.Thu.Sat. Sun at Noon and 2pm.
