Jaluit Atoll is the second-largest atoll in the western Ralik chain in the Marshall Islands. The principle islet, Jabor was the capital until the Americans moved it to Majuro. Today, Jaluit Atoll is a designated conservation area and Ramsar Wetland of International Importance. Access to Jaluit is primarily through Air Marshall Islands via Majuro, or less commonly by boat. The atoll offers pristine coral reef diving, bird-watching and numerous mangrove forests. Cultural relics from German, Japanese and American occupation are also prolific.
