Coral Coast Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and seeThe Southwest quadrant of Viti Levu ("Big Fiji"), known in travel circles as the "Coral Coast," contains a number of tourist resorts, and with good reason. The area features the nicest weather on Viti Levu, as well as spectacular ocean views, white sand beaches, and volcanic hills that rise sharply toward the island's interior. Fijian village life is also on prominent display, with a number of villages which feature cultural events for interested travelers.
The region also features spectacular reef surfing -- Fiji hosts the Roxy Pro professional surfing event every year for women (the richest event on the women's tour), in the nearby Mamanuca islands, and the Globe Fiji Pro men's contest at the spectacular Frigates reef break near Waidroka Bay on the Coral Coast.
Access for visitors is a matter of a short bus ride or rental car trip from Nadi.
